BRLO

BRLO

BRLO is the slavic origin of the name Berlin. From their 38 shipping containers at their base in Berlin – in the heart of Gleisdreieck – they’re excited not to only present to you their award-winning beers, but also their award-winning restaurant, the BRLO BRWHOUSE. They’re not your normal brewery, and they kind of like that.

BRLO was founded as a project between three friends: Katharina, Christian and Michael. After a boozy evening, the idea to “do something with beer” matured and did not escape the thoughts of Katharina and Christian. Michael joined the founding team shortly alter the idea was born. He has lived for brewing for as long as he could think (well, almost). After training as a brewer and maltster, he completed his renowned Brewers Diploma. Now Michael is the king of the BRLO brewing pots, even if Katharina and Christian love to diligently give their two cents.

What they say

Our beers are brewed with artisanal qualities in small-scale batches. Other than our Helles, we stay true to not filtering the brews so that important and healthy nutrients are retained. Each beer is given enough valuable time to mature and develop its unique hops aroma.

We only work with selected raw material suppliers. Our malt supplier is the small family firm, Rhön Malz, from Lower Franconia, because of their ecologically-sound and handcrafted art of production (as well as being both Naturland- and Bioland-certified).

Our hops supplier Joh. Barth & Sohn, a traditional family firm from Nuremberg, also has hops production in the USA and Australia. Therefore, with this international presence, we are able to source high-quality and unique aroma hops from just one supplier.

Water is the most important ingredient of a beer in terms of quantity. In our own brewery at Gleisdreieck we use a filter system from one of our partners LEOGANT.
