Trail Details
Berghotel Obersee to Enggi
Summary: This first section of the hike is classified as a hiking trail and takes us on a relatively flat route from Berghotel Obersee, along the edge of the lake and then through the meadows past Oberseealp to Enggi
From the car park at Berghotel Obersee, the route takes us along the tarmac road past the hotel, until we reach and information sign, with a carved statue of a seated man beside it. Here, we leave the road and join the gravel and dirt nature trail that runs along side it. Dotted along this trail are information points with details of the flora and fauna that inhabit it
Following the trail as it gently follows the edge of the lake, breaks in the trees give us views across the lake to the mountains beyond. Eventually, after crossing a small footbridge, the trail crosses a larger gravel trail, before continuing on until we reach a wider gravel track, where a signpost directs us to turn left onto the track and down towards the lake.
When we reach the tarmac road, we cross it and take a gravel path that leads us down to the footbridge at Prüglen, where we cross the stream before walking along along a track through the meadow to another bridge at Stafelbrücke.
After crossing the tarmac lane, we continue through a gate and along the side of the stream through another meadow, past the buildings, until the path turns left towards the trees at the foot of the mountain.
The path here is a mixture of grass and stone, as it leads us through the trees, until we eventually arrive at the the signpost at Enggi.
