Sunday
Sunday starts with a train from Croydon to London Bridge and from there a short walk across the bridge and down Lower Thames Street to the first stop of the day, Outpost Tower Hill.
Outpost Tower Hill
This is one of Brewdog’s Outposts, a brewpub, that in addition to the usual range of Brewdog and guest beers brews a range of beers onsite. The bar also offers the full Brewdog food menu and has 3 shuffleboards and a selection of arcade games. My beer of choice at Brewdog Tower Hill was Zombie Cake, a 5.5% Praline Chocolate Porter.
I accompanied the drink with a Haystack, Brewdog‘s take on the full English breakfast, British pork sausage, black pudding, smoked streaky bacon, hash brown, forest mushroom, vine tomatoes, Boston beans, fried egg & sourdough toast.
From Tower Hill, it was a short walk to Tower Gateway and onto the Docklands Light Railway to Brewdog Canary Wharf.
Brewdog Canary Wharf
Brewdog Canary Wharf is situated right on the Bellmouth Passage waterway and features an outside patio area as well as the usual booths and tables. As befitting a bar in one of London’s financial areas, Brewdog Canary Wharf features The Hop Exchange beer, one tap (a rotating selection of beers), which follows the FTSE. As the FTSE falls, the Hop Exchange beer will become cheaper by the same percentage difference and vice versa! The bar also accepts cryptocurrencies as a means of payment.
My choice of Beer at Brewdog Canary Wharf was “Made for Brewdog” by Northern Monk, a 6% sour IPA with a citrusy mango flavour.
From Brewdog Canary Wharf, it is a long journey to our next bar. Taking the Jubilee Line to Canada Water and then swapping to a northbound overground train to Dalston Junction and our next stop Brewdog Dalston.
